Hey all. Don't know if any of you are in the Pittsburgh area, but OTR
played a charming show at Rosebud last nite. Moxy Fruvous (a funky
Canadian band that reminds me a bit of Bare Naked Ladies) opened for
them. The show wasn't as good as the other two I've seen, especially the
'96 Emery show, but it was soothing balm for my weary soul nonetheless.

They had the new and permanent line up together. Karin said that the'd
only been playing as a band for about three days. And of course, they
were amazing anyways.
For those of you who don't know, Terri Templeton has been added as
background vocals and violinist (she sang on Darkest Night and at the
Emery show); Gordon Henderson (I think that's his name) (the
gravelly-voiced Scottish/English guy who opened for OTR at some shows
last year) is on guitar; and I forget the bassists's name, but he's been
mentioned on here before.

Linford said that they needed to practice so they were going to play
quite a few for us.

The set list:

Bothered
Faithfully Dangerous
Gospel Number
Latter Days
Cast Me Away
And Can It Be
SeaHorse
Sweet Baby Jane
June
Everyman's Daughter
Lucy
All I Need.. .
Jack's Valentine
Go Down Easy (encore)

They would have played longer if Kerry hadn't come up and told Linford
that the club was basically kicking them out since it was 10:00. I think
the club turns into some silly dance club after that. Oh the injustice!
The inhumanity of it all!! =-)

I asked Todd for the e-mail picture book, but Shelly had it and she was
at home. So I didn't get to see all of your beautiful faces and add my
silly mug. Oh well.

Ah, yes, and they were selling Besides at the concert. It cost $20 and
included the first Northern Spy and a card to send in to officially
become a Rhinelander. Since I was broke at the time before Besides came
out, I had to wait till now to join this little "secret after dark club"
(Linford's words. I think.) But now I'm one of them.
